ABOUT

"Changing is not just changing things outside of us. First of all, we need the right view that transcends all notions including of being and non-being, creator and creature, mind and spirit. That kind of insight is crucial for transformation and healing."

- Thich Nhat Hanh

Hello and welcome! My name is Jacelyn Cole and I am the creator and owner of Oaklawn Enchantments. I have been interested in the natural healing of mind, body, and spirit, for as long as I can remember.

I retired from the United States Air Force in 2021 after 21 years on active duty, where I spent most of my career as an Air Traffic Controller (19 years), followed by being assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader of Wing Staff Agencies & Financial Management (3 years).  I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Purdue University Global with my Bachelors of Science in Health and Wellness with a concentration in Complementary and Alternative Medicine in 2022. At the time of my retirement and finishing my degree, my family and I were renovating our home in Mississippi which had been aptly named "Oaklawn". My time in Mississippi allowed me to slow down and explore more all natural healing methods. I then began to create all natural handcrafted skincare and candles. (Although I had been creating salves and balms for years for family members.) I decided to combine my education with my passion and to dive head first into business! That is when "Oaklawn Enchantments"

was initially born, but I could have never imagined that it would grow so quickly!

I have been married for four years to my husband Ian, who is currently serving in the United States Navy and is currently stationed at NAS Whidbey Island in Washington state. Once we arrived to Whidbey Island, I fell in love. I fell in love with not only with the area, but the people and the mindset! That is when I decided to open a brick and mortar store within 9 months of moving! (And all while my husband was deployed!)

I do have the great support of not only my husband, but also our three boys, who are 22, 20, and 15. Two of which are in college themselves! I'm both a Longhorn and a Cowboy's mom & my oldest is now finishing his Masters in Law at Vanderbilt University. My oldest and his partner have also joined us here on Whidbey Island as he finishes law school.

I am excited to share my knowledge and help others heal, grow, & learn about complementary and alternative medicine!
